The TEG Ardleibhéal 1 (C1) exam will take place in Maynooth University on the 2 & 3 February 2018 and applications will be accepted online until the 12 January 2018.
Candidates will have the option of taking all parts of the exam for full certification, or the oral exam as a standalone for partial certification.
This qualification is widely recognised as evidence of high-level language skills and each year candidates from a broad range of backgrounds take the exam, among them secondary school teachers, linguists, university tutors, journalists, translators and lawyers. In approving funding for institutions under the Advanced Irish Language Skills Initiative, the Higher Education Authority and the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht stipulated that students of postgraduate courses in translation must pass the C1 exam as an exit requirement.
As well as being held in February, the C1 exam will also take place in Maynooth on the 17 & 18 August 2018.
